Enable only when useful
The basic 404 counter is optional and off by default. It records local path totals, not visitor IP addresses, user agents, query strings or profiles. Paths themselves can still contain personal information.
Choose the appropriate scope
Free defaults to seven-day retention with 1,000 distinct paths per day. Existing longer retention is preserved until changed. Pro adds hit statistics and extended retention/filter controls. Turning off the 404 counter clears its totals.
Review before redirecting
A frequently requested missing path is a starting point, not a reason to redirect everything. Choose a relevant destination, create an exact rule, and test it. Export anything you need to retain before privacy erasure or cleanup.
