PREVIOUS PAIRED RELEASE

Free + Pro
5 October 2026

Stay paused while database setup cannot finish.

If WordPress cannot create the required tables, Free keeps its paused state on later requests and shows database guidance. Opening RedirectNest no longer treats an unsuccessful setup retry as a ready database. Existing redirects and settings are retained.

Ask your host to restore the required database permissions, then reload WordPress so setup can retry. The plugin does not grant permissions or convert tables automatically. Pro is released as the matching 0.10.6 package; its feature set is unchanged.

Update the matched pair.

For a fresh pair, install Free 0.10.6 before Pro 0.10.6. For an existing pair, replace Pro first and Free second, without uninstalling. Back up and test representative paths. WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.1+ remain required; automatic Pro updates require Free 0.10.0 or newer.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.10.5

Free + Pro
5 October 2026

A clearer workspace, with safer settings and cleanup.

Free now opens with an Overview and a next-step guide. WordPress navigation stays visible until you choose Focus. Search and paging keep rule lists manageable; forms work without JavaScript. Explore Pro occupies one entry with clearly labelled practice examples.

Logging controls require an authorized POST and verify the saved setting before clearing counts. A failed save preserves the counts and shows an error. Unsupported database storage pauses the plugin with guidance instead of an activation fatal. Request inputs are sanitized and strictly validated without silently changing encoded paths.

Deactivation follows the saved plugin state.

Free and Pro clear their scheduled jobs after successful deactivation, including network sites where the edition becomes inactive. Pro also clears recurring diagnostics. Sites with a remaining independent activation retain their jobs. Rules and settings are retained.

Install the matched pair.

For a fresh pair, install Free 0.10.5 before Pro 0.10.5. For an existing pair, replace Pro first and Free second, without uninstalling. Back up and test representative paths. WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.1+ remain required; automatic Pro updates require Free 0.10.0 or newer.

Finish everyday fixes more easily in Free.

Save a rule and open its prefilled local test. Search missing paths, sort by hits or last seen, and mark a path reviewed, ignored or open. Import previews explain Free compatibility, Pro converter evaluation, manual work and capacity problems, with downloadable row errors. Any rejected row still blocks the entire import.

Keep Pro reviews moving.

Auto-Mapper adds custom destinations, progress and filters for undecided, ambiguous and approved rows. Content scans can continue across bounded scopes and optionally run daily or weekly. Dated care reports use retained observations, with explicit missing and partial coverage. Internal-link cleanup supports selected stable core paragraph, list and button blocks alongside classic HTML.

Separate proposals from publishing.

Give a teammate proposal-only access for exact-rule additions, replacements or removals, with a different administrator reviewing and publishing. Preview reversal of a retained change batch while its original snapshots remain available; unrelated later changes are preserved and conflicting changes block reversal.

Review a changed product route.

With WooCommerce active, search products by name, SKU or ID, choose a replacement or intentional retirement, and approve the exact redirect decision. Stock changes never create or remove redirects automatically.

Know what the examples show.

Free’s local examples are labelled practice data. Public screenshots retain their actual capture versions. The temporary WordPress demo still runs 0.9.6 and does not yet include this release’s additions.

Update the matched pair.

Existing pair: Pro first, then Free, without uninstalling. New installation: Free first, then Pro. WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.1+ remain required. Back up and test representative paths after updating. Advanced rules need compatible Pro to remain active.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

Free + Pro
29 September 2026

See the separate Pro toolkit from Free.

Free now shows ten clearly labelled PRO sections in the RedirectNest sidebar: Site care, Site diagnostics, Monitoring & schedules, Migration Auto-Mapper, Migration projects, License & updates, Redirect lifecycle, Smart repair, Developer tools and Team access. Each opens an explanation of the separate add-on and a relevant Free alternative. Installing and activating compatible Pro replaces those explanations with its real tools.

Free Redirects and Privacy remain available. The paid local feature engines stay outside the Free package. This release also includes the intervening input, output, database-query and review fixes prepared in 0.9.4 and 0.9.5. The private Pro updater is retained.

Try the actual plugin before installing.

The website demo now runs the same 0.9.6 plugins in temporary WordPress workspaces. Switch editions, create sample redirects, preview imports and reset your practice site. External checks, email and account connections are disabled in the demo.

Update the matched pair.

Existing pair: Pro first, then Free, without uninstalling. New installation: Free first, then Pro. WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.1+ remain required. Back up first and test representative URLs after updating.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.9.3

Free + Pro
28 September 2026

Find the right Pro tool more easily.

Explore Pro now has five short feature cards: Broken-link repair, Advanced matching, Migration tools, Destination monitoring and Client reports. Each explains one benefit and links to the workflow details. A single View Pro plans button opens pricing.

Keep everyday redirects comfortable in Free.

A small Advanced matching link below the exact-path help opens the relevant explanation when the Pro editor is unavailable. The Free editor keeps its working fields and Save redirect action. All Free features remain available without buying Pro.

Practical details, clearly explained.

Expandable sections cover licensing and renewals, installing or deactivating Pro, and what stays available in Free. Pro is a separate paid add-on. Advanced rules require compatible Pro to remain active. Their definitions are retained if Pro is removed, but advanced matching stops. Ordinary subscription expiry is different from deactivation.

Includes the 0.9.1 and 0.9.2 input-handling fixes.

Invalid form and upload values are rejected without applying the requested changes. Encoded URL prefills are preserved, monitoring alerts require a valid recipient when enabled, and values displayed in administration use the appropriate output handling.

Update the matched pair.

Existing pair: Pro 0.9.3 first, then Free 0.9.3, without uninstalling. New installation: Free first, then Pro. WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.1+ remain required. Back up first and test important redirects afterward. Existing rules, privacy choices and activation policy are retained.

RELEASE HISTORY

Earlier changes

The notes below describe earlier versions. Use the current Free 1.1.2 and Pro 1.1.2 packages and current update order above; historical installation instructions are not additional steps.

EARLIER RELEASE

0.9.0

Free + Pro
28 September 2026

Advanced matching belongs to Pro.

Wildcard, bounded regex, source-query, visitor and request-condition matching now run entirely in the separate Pro add-on. Free remains a standalone exact-redirect plugin.

Keep Pro active to run advanced redirects. If Pro is missing, inactive or incompatible, advanced rules remain saved but do not execute. They are not changed into unconditional exact redirects. Free retains pause, delete, export and snapshot recovery; compatible Pro resumes saved matching.

Logging controls included in Free.

Choose retention, daily path limits, noise filtering and ignored prefixes without Pro. Optional counters remain off by default. Existing settings are preserved, and first-save handling is corrected.

Safer administration and URL handling.

Both editions improve input validation, sanitize notices before display and encode new query values consistently, including forwarded bookmarks.

Update Pro first, then Free.

Existing pair: Pro 0.9.0 first, then Free 0.9.0, without uninstalling. New installation: Free first, then Pro. Free 0.9.0 pauses older incompatible Pro versions. Back up first and test important exact and advanced redirects afterward. Ordinary subscription expiry still preserves previously activated installed Pro functionality while Pro remains active.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.8.0

Free + Pro
27 September 2026

A clear decision for a missing page.

Free’s Needs attention workspace brings URL-change and deletion reviews together. Choose a manual replacement, leave the path unchanged or explicitly confirm an intentional 410. Relevant optional Pro explanations can be hidden per user/site; no automatic prompt or conversion telemetry is added.

Review before repair.

Pro Smart repair accepts a missing path even with logging off. It offers up to three lexical candidates from 500 public pages, explains the local evidence and leaves the choice to you. Authorize destination checks separately, preview up to 25 decisions and approve the exact batch. Changed content or rules block stale approvals.

Plan the move and care for what remains.

Migration Auto-Mapper compares two uploaded sitemaps locally and sends only approved mappings into the draft/check/publish workflow. Redirect lifecycle highlights potential exact-rule chains, recent failed checks and your own review dates. Internal-link cleanup previews one eligible classic HTML page at a time with a native revision and guarded recovery.

These four tools require administrator access and the matched 0.8.0 pair. Matching does not prove content equivalence. Content scans remain bounded; blocks, builders, dynamic content and unsupported links need manual editing. See the limits and retention guide.

Update in the right order.

Existing pair: Pro 0.8.0 FIRST, then Free 0.8.0, without uninstalling. Fresh pair: Free first, then Pro. Back up before updating. After the 0.7.1 storage upgrade, do not downgrade either edition below 0.7.1.

Free retains exact redirects, bulk enable/pause/delete, basic optional hit/404 counts, imports and rule recovery. Previously activated installed Pro features remain available after ordinary subscription expiry; renewal covers new downloads, updates and new activations. Prices and existing privacy choices are unchanged.

EARLIER CHANGES

0.7 series

Free + Pro

Site diagnostics, team access and request conditions.

Version 0.7.0 added bounded content-link scans, aggregate trends, local source discovery, request conditions, delegated capabilities and reviewed REST/CLI and server-export tools. Detailed fleet diagnostics use a separate opt-in and require a compatible service; their installed controls do not establish dashboard availability.

Version 0.7.1 strengthened delegated action validation and persistent identifiers, and clarified paired updates and service erasure. Its storage compatibility boundary still applies. Version 0.7.2 aligned author attribution with RedirectNest.com without changing redirect or licensing behavior.

Login/role conditions were introduced with Free 0.6.2; additional request conditions require Free 0.7.0 or later. In 0.8.0, saved conditions ran after Pro removal. From 0.9.0, their engines are in Pro and advanced rules require it to remain active.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.5.8

Free + Pro
24 September 2026

Reliable text across languages.

Long rule labels, project names and report branding are shortened without splitting a UTF-8 character. Multilingual text remains valid when saved, displayed and exported.

Migration evidence follows the latest mapping.

Editing a draft mapping now removes its previous sitemap comparison. Compare the sitemaps again before relying on the coverage summary or generating a new client report.

Concurrent connection changes stay separate.

If a site-release request completes after another administrator replaces the local key, the replacement connection is preserved. The release request uses the connection selected for that action; removing a local key also checks that the connection has not been replaced.

Install the matched pair.

Back up your WordPress files and database, install Free 0.5.8 first, then Pro 0.5.8, and test representative URLs. WordPress 6.7 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer remain required. Pro’s functional minimum remains Free 0.5.6. Existing redirect rules, the redesigned interface, edition boundaries and activation policy are unchanged.

Free + Pro
24 September 2026

A consistent workspace for everyday redirects.

Free now has a compact page header, clearer rule rows and status labels, an expandable Add a redirect form, responsive controls and organized import, test, recovery and privacy screens. Choosing Add a redirect while editing starts a new rule without reusing the existing rule’s identity.

The current migration comes first.

Pro places the active project, dated results and next action ahead of secondary tools. Wide screens show mappings beside the check and publish controls; smaller screens stack the workspace. Background checks, sitemap comparison, saved workspaces and recovery use expandable sections. Monitoring, site connection and printable reports share the updated design.

Install the matched pair.

Back up your WordPress files and database, install Free 0.5.7 first, then Pro 0.5.7, and test representative URLs. Pro’s functional minimum remains Free 0.5.6. WordPress 6.7 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer remain required. Existing redirect behavior, stored-data formats, edition boundaries, prices, site allowances and activation policy are unchanged. No new tracking, external fonts or remote design assets are added to the plugins.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.5.6

Free + Pro
23 September 2026

Everyday cleanup and reviewed conversions in Free.

Free now includes confirmed bulk pause and delete, plus imports of basic exact-rule conversions from Redirection JSON. Free can also preview Rank Math exports and review Simple 301 exports for manual conversion. Rank Math conversions require Pro for trailing-slash matching; Simple 301 exports are not imported automatically in either edition. Competitor conversions show an encoded-path warning and require you to select an initially unchecked acknowledgement before import; native CSV does not need this extra acknowledgement.

An exact path can still have advanced query or matching options. Those require Pro where supported; unsupported conditions are rejected rather than removed. Rejected rows block publication of the import. Correct the file or upload a compatible subset as a new preview.

Pro keeps the migration in one workspace.

Review the full rule diff, check destinations, publish and verify the result. Keep dated reports for client handoff, monitor changes after launch and retain snapshots for recovery. Pro also includes advanced matching and imports, bulk enable/group actions, automatic URL-change publication, hit statistics, alerts and schedules.

Install the paired Free update first.

Pro 0.5.6 requires Free 0.5.6. Back up your WordPress files and database, update Free first and then Pro, and test representative URLs. WordPress 6.7 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer remain required. The existing site allowances, prices and activation policy are unchanged.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.5.5

Free + Pro
22 September 2026

Security and reliability fixes across both editions.

This maintenance release fixes security and reliability issues in Free and Pro. It keeps the existing feature set, WordPress navigation and license policy.

Free and the shared redirect engine
  • Filters sensitive query names more consistently, including nested parameters, and protects configured destination parameters from incoming overrides.
  • Encodes pattern captures used in destination queries, anchors regex alternatives to the complete path and distinguishes case-sensitive regex syntax when identifying rules.
  • Validates native CSV headers even when a file has no data rows.
  • Checks current source ownership and public destinations before accepting or automatically publishing URL changes, including on subdirectory sites.
  • Preserves stale-edit protection in rendered forms and handles nested post updates independently.
  • Improves database write consistency and reports individual multisite overview errors without hiding healthy sites.
Pro controls and background work
  • Keeps WordPress admin usable when Free is unavailable or an optional license refresh fails.
  • Applies consistent production/staging checks during activation and preserves concurrent connection and fleet-privacy changes.
  • Fixes license-state writes through the WordPress SQLite adapter.
  • Discards superseded monitoring alerts and checks current monitoring consent and the recipient before sending queued mail.
  • Lets you stop recurring monitoring even when unrelated saved settings are invalid; cancellation also clears its queued work and mail.
  • Requires UTF-8 sitemap XML so alternate encodings cannot bypass the DTD and entity prohibition.

Update Free first, then Pro.

Back up your WordPress files and database. Install the paired Free 0.5.5 package before Pro 0.5.5, then test representative URLs. WordPress 6.7 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer remain required.

Some case-insensitive regex rules now have corrected identities. Review any schedule marked as a conflict and re-enter saved pattern samples if requested. Existing published redirects remain in Free.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

0.5.4

Free + Pro
21 September 2026

One menu. Clear sections.

Version 0.5.4 brought one WordPress sidebar menu. Redirects, Migration projects, Monitoring & schedules, License & updates and Privacy are grouped together. Free on its own shows Redirects and Privacy. Existing Tools bookmarks redirect to the new pages.

It retained the concurrent-edit and privacy safeguards from 0.5.3 and the shared identity and edition guidance from 0.5.2.

The activation policy introduced in 0.5.1 is unchanged: activate once on a site and retain installed Pro features after ordinary expiry. Renew for new downloads, updates and new activations. Refunds, disputes, released sites and explicit revocation are separate.

YOUR SITE KEEPS MOVING

Activate once.
Keep using Pro.

After a successful activation, installed Pro features keep working on that site after ordinary subscription expiry—even during a service outage.

Renew for new downloads, updates and new site activations. Refunds, disputes, site releases and explicit revocation are separate. Keep both plugins active: advanced matching requires the separate Pro plugin. Saved rules and recovery remain available if Pro is inactive.
